Since my last post we were finally able to do the traveling that we had hoped to do. We loaded up the car and our 2 sons and drove to Seattle to visit family and friends. Unfortunately we only got to visit a few people because Duane ended up getting sick and had to be hospitalized at the Seattle VA. That man sure knows how to ruin a vacation...lol! Hopefully one day he'll be well enough to head east to the Chicago area to see what family I still have in that area and some old friends from school days. Right now we need to get him well again and a vehicle that he can get in and out of. His arthritic knees are giving him horrible problems with getting into the lousy truck we have. The darn Lincoln we were driving is now sitting in the yard covered in snow waiting for the money and a good mechanic to change the hub and such since the wheel decided to come off while driving. I'm spreading the word around where we live for people not to take it to the "grease monkies" that changed the brakes on the car. Did you know that over tightening lug nuts will cause you not to just loose your wheel but also the studs they go on. Thank God we had the truck to fall back on.

ou would always make a wish for something you really wanted as you blew out the candles on your birthday cake. Well, after 62 years I can finally say what my wish was since I made sure it came true last year. I had always wished for a horse. A year ago I got a chance to buy a cute little filley for $50. I had her a year when our granddaughter's husband slugged poor Ginger for stepping on his foot. After that we had nothing but problems with her and were afraid she might hurt one of the younger grandkids so I sold her and bought a Palamino colt for $75. I've now given Dusty to my stepdaughter because I got a great deal on a 2 year old Quarter Horse mare. Remi's great grandfather is considered a "Million Dollar Stallion" by the American Quarter Horse Association and studs out for $15,000. Believe it or not I only paid $300 for a horse that's worth far more. Since Angie cares for the horses out at the family farm I felt she deserved Dusty as payment. Her little filley is one smart colt. She gets Remi into so much trouble...lol! At any rate, I may not have gotten my birthday wish until now but I made darn sure that I got it...lol! Check out my new picture that I posted. Yep!!! That's me on my Remi.
